About Me
Digital marketing … I love it! After having spent a number of years working with and in traditional media, the transition to digital has been without doubt my best career experience to date.
Over the years I’ve worked in radio, tv, events, entertainment and publishing. Outside of work I served as chairperson of the Public Relations Institute of Australia’s (PRIA) Young Communicators and as a director of the Victorian branch of the PRIA. My most recent position was running the electronic music division of Australia’s leading street press organisation Street Press Australia.
But then in April of ’08 I saw an ad for a job on Facebook. The ad seemed too good to be true. You know, like it had something to do with Nigeria? The position was with a company called ReachLocal, arguably the global leader in search engine advertising for small to medium businesses (SME’s). Three interview stages later I became one of the original consultants to launch the Melbourne office in June of ’08.
I am now a certified online media / marketing nut. I love its precision. I love its reporting capabilities. I love the way it builds communities of like minded individuals. But best of all I love the power it places back in the hands of the client. With all the additional information that digital marketing makes available to the advertiser, they find themselves in a more informed position from which to make the key strategic decisions that will shape the future direction of their business.
The 14 years I have spent working with Melbourne radio station Kiss FM now find me co-hosting a weekly breakfast show focused on social media. Each Tuesday on The Morning After you can find me alongside Alexander Theory and social media guru Sam Mutimer, where we gossip about all the latest platforms, apps, gadgets and sites that we think deserve your attention … good or bad!
So enough About Me. Head back to the blog and feel free to provide your feedback on my postings whether you agree with what I’ve written or not. There’s also a bunch of social media widgets which you can use to make your interactions with the blog that much easier.
Enjoy!
